| Its origin dates back to the 18th century when it was a farm.
Robert Gimson bought the property in 1968 and in 1969 began to make an
interesting garden, and built a new house in which he lived until his death. He
carried out valuable work, over the years, planting and identifying the plants
he acquired, many of them of exotic origin: Australian, American, and Oriental,
such as Rhododendrons, azaleas, leptospermum, protaceas and camellias. He
grouped a large number of varieties of the species C. caudata, C.
crysantha, C. cuspidata, C. lutchuensis, C. oleifera,
C. saluenensis, C. sinensis, C. reticulata, C.
japonica and C. sasanqua, which he classified and labelled, making
an important collection, with which he gained several prizes at the
International Camellia Exhibition. The property was divided and sold by his
widow. The present owner of the part which includes the Pazo has carried out
important work, reconstructing the main original buildings (Pazo, chapel and
dovecote) and a great cleaning of the garden, while maintaining Robert Gimson's
original design. |

del siglo XVIII, siendo en aquel entonces una casa de labranza. Robert Gimson
adquirió la propiedad en el año 1968 y en 1969 inició la
creación de un interesante jardín, y construyó una nueva
vivienda en la que vivió hasta su muerte. A lo largo de los años
realizó una importante labor de plantación e
identificación de las plantas adquiridas, muchas de ellas de origen
exótico, procedentes de Australia, América y Oriente:
rododendros, azaleas, leptospermum, protáceas y camelias. Reunió
un gran número de especies como C. caudata, C. crysantha,
C. cuspidata, C. lutchuensis, C. oleifera, C.
saluenensis, C. sinensis, C. reticulata, C. japonica y
C. sasanqua y variedades, que clasificó y etiquetó,
consiguiendo una importante colección, con la que consiguió
varios premios en el Concurso Exposición Internacional de la Camelia. La
propiedad fue dividida y vendida por su viuda. La propietaria actual de la
parte que incluye el Pazo ha llevado a cabo una importante labor de
reconstrucción de las principales edificaciones originales del Pazo
(Pazo, capilla y palomar) y una limpieza exhaustiva del jardín,
manteniendo al mismo tiempo el diseño original de Robert Gimson.
