The International Camellia Society is a non-profit organization devoted to the genus Camellia, founded in April 1962 and is open to anyone interested and devoted to the study and promotion of the genus Camellia.

Its yearly publication is the International Camellia Journal, which includes relevant information for its members, publishing both articles related to the camellia itself and the society. The ICS also maintains the International Camellia Register that lists the camellia species and varieties.

The society is managed by a team of directives: the Patron, presently Gregory Davis; the President, currently Mrs. Patricia Short; four Vice-presidents; the region directors; a treasurer; the registrars and the Journal editor. Presently, the ICS has around two thousand members all over the world.

La Sociedad Internacional de la Camelia es una organización sin ánimo de lucro fundada en Abril de 1962, abierta a cualquier persona interesada, y dedicada al estudio y divulgación del género de plantas "CAMELLIA".

Publica anualmente el "Internacional Camellia Journal", revista de información y divulgación para los socios, editando tanto artículos de temas relacionados con la camelia, como relativos a la Sociedad y además mantiene el Registro internacional de nuevas especies y variedades.

Cada dos años convoca un Congreso, donde se tratan las ponencias que presentan las distintas regiones, socios, etc.

Su organización está representada por una figura de Presidente Honorífico o Patrón, actualmente el Sr.D. Greg Davis, un Presidente, la Sra. Patricia Short, cuatro Vicepresidentes y Directores y Representantes de los socios para cada una de las regiones, un Secretario, un tesorero, los encargados del registro y un Editor. La I.C.S. tiene en la actualidad alrededor de dos mil socios de más de veinte países de todo el mundo.
